ABOUT US:
We love pets, but they aren’t always the best advocates for their own cause. Don’t worry, they’re not offended by that. They give us endless love, compassion, loyalty and cuddles. It’s our end of the bargain to give them food, shelter, protection and endless tummy rubs. That’s why it’s our mission to put pets in homes and keep them there – because all pets are meant to be with good people.
 
YOUR ROLE WITH US:
We are not your ordinary non-profit. We prefer to think of ourselves as an innovative and mission-driven social enterprise. If you can’t tell by now – we like to think outside of the box. And if you do too, we’ll probably be a great match. We are just regular people that have an extreme passion for pets and an idea to change the world for them.
 
We expect you will work hard and play hard. Collaboration is the way we work best. We believe that a multitude of creative minds working together makes all the difference. You will interact with a lot of different people and personalities. Some of your office mates will even be walking on all fours – and we’re not talking about that one time at our office game night.
 
This is a full-time position.

YOU WILL:
  • Provide all necessary administrative support to the General Counsel, Director of Policy and Civic Engagement, and Chief Program Officer, so you’ll need to be extremely organized - right now your closet is probably arranged according to color. You know who you are.
  • Set up travel and coordinate accompanied expenses so our wanderlust executives have a place to lay their heads during business getaways.  
  • Manage the Foundation’s contracts. You know the who’s who and the what’s what. You’ll make sure we don’t miss any important deadlines!
  • Love the small things. Details are your happy place.
  • Have great judgement. You know what needs your boss’ attention and what doesn’t.
  • Be careful and precise - you’re the kinda person who can’t walk past a crooked lampshade without straightening it up.
  • Know what your bosses need  before they need it. Mind reading and ability to predict the future not necessary, but helpful.
  • Independently manage incoming invoices and check request processes. You can code with the best of ‘em!
  • Never say “not my job”. In fact, you never saw a problem you didn’t want to solve.
  • Have a cheerful heart and be passionate about our mission.
  • Learn something new every. single. day. Not learning is sooo last year.
  • Do your job to the best of your ability, understanding that you are saving lives.
  • Be a leader. Speak up! We would love to hear your ideas.
  • Run from anyone that says you won’t succeed.

     
YOU GOTTA:
  • Have a bachelor's degree from an awesome accredited school or have experience that blows our minds!
  • Have at least 2 years experience as an Executive Assistant
  • Legal Assistant experience a plus
  • Be able to function independently and make great decisions, anticipate needs, and respond independently.
  • Be a whizz with Google Docs and Google Sheets
  • Know what the H-E-Double Hockey Sticks you’re doing when you’re using Google Apps.
  • Be accepting and welcoming of change, knowing that change is an opportunity to improve.
  • Must love puppies & kittens. But, really, who doesn’t?
  • Be a multi-tasking Guru when it comes to juggling many different projects at a time.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with all types of people and pets (and if you can actually talk to pets - let us know your secret. We’ve been trying for years!).
A burning desire to make a difference and save the lives of pets.
