Internship Program Overview:
Under general supervision of the Art Director/Graphic Designer, you will be working on a variety of design projects to help support our range of national and local programs for both consumer and animal industry audiences. Most of our projects focus on our free national microchip registry and two local retail Adopt & Shop stores where we adopt out shelter pets plus offer a full range of pet retail products, daycare and grooming services. But as a fast moving organization with multiple programs, you may be called on to work on other areas as well.
 
You will have the opportunity to interact with others on the marketing team and learn about a dynamic non-profit with a unique business model as you help us save more pets and build your design portfolio.
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Concept, design and prepare art files for a range of design projects including collateral, conference and trade show materials
  • Create social media posts
  • Source photos or other art for emails and other digital content
  • Create email header or banner creative
  • Assist in the development of creative templates and/or branding guidelines
  • Some minor copywriting, as needed
 
Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing BA in Graphic Design or similar area
  • Proficient in Adobe Suite – Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign- will need to provide sample work
  • Good technical and conceptual skills, attention to detail
  • Proficient in Google Suite
  • Self-starter, well-organized, and able to work independently
  • Experience with photography or video editing a plus
  • Able to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities
  • Interest and experience with dogs/cats
 
Length of Project:
  • 10-12 weeks (based on availability)
