This newly created position is responsible for driving significant revenue through marketing sponsorships, partnerships and lead generation programs.  Given our social enterprise model, a key organizational goal is to make our national microchip registry a self-sustaining business by creating multiple revenue streams, including monetizing our pet owner database.  Over two thirds of US households are pet owners and spending on pets continues to grow rapidly. Our goal is to attract partner and sponsor brands who want to reach pet owners while aligning with our mission. It’s a win-win proposition that will help us save more pets.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, has a track record of driving significant revenue and ability to create and scale a program quickly. In this role, you’ll identify, cultivate and develop revenue generating programs, including lead generation and partnerships and sponsorships - offering brands the opportunity to reach our pet owner audience via multi-channel programs (including email ad placements, website and social channel placements, sponsored emails, digital content and other activity). The position reports to our Chief Marketing Officer and will collaborate with others on the marketing team on program implementation.   • Drive strategic partnership/sponsorship and lead generation revenue for Michelson Found Animals, leveraging our national pet owner database
  • Establish and quickly scale program to achieve revenue targets
  • Identify potential target categories and brands
  • Prospect, develop sponsor/partner relationships
  • Build compelling proposals and presentations that leverage marketing assets/channels (e.g., email ads, sponsored emails, social media audiences)
  • Collaborate with marketing team on possible program components
  • Negotiate partnership details, including revenue structure
  • Smoothly transition final deals to marketing team for implementation
  • As appropriate, engage executive management to build strategic relationships to ensure long term opportunity
  • Establish and manage revenue tracking to monitor results vs goals
  • Brainstorm and identify additional revenue stream opportunities
  • Stay current on best practices
Key Competencies
  • Minimum 10 years work experience, with at least five years in national partnership/sponsorship sales and marketing, lead generation, ad sales, business development, corporate fundraising and/or cause marketing
  • Experience with/in a non-profit or social enterprise (particularly animal welfare) preferred
  • Proven track record of creating and driving significant revenue streams
  • Ability to network, build and manage partner/sponsor relationships
  • Self-motivated, energetic and results-oriented with a high sense of urgency
  • Superior oral,  written and listening communication skills
  • High EQ, strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Able to effectively represent Michelson Found Animals to prospective partner companies
  • Practical experience managing multiple partnerships effectively, as well as collaborating with internal teams
  • Solution-oriented, able to think past obstacles and creatively problem solve
Additional Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel and/or attend events outside of traditional 9-5 work hours, as needed
  • A commitment to the mission and organizational values of Michelson Found Animals, including a burning desire to make a difference in the lives of pets
